Our manufacturer has spent many years perfecting the use of environmental, sustainable, brown paper twist-ties. Enabling PILLAR™paper twist-ties to withstand heavy moisture and high wind conditions, such as those within the vineyard industry.

Paper
The secret is in the ingredients. We use natural unbleached brown Kraft paper, laminated with a specially formulated water-resistant, 100% biodegradable 'Corn Celluloid' (Corn Starch) glue. This is squeeze-rolled to permeate the paper, making for a stronger Tie.

Baked
The paper is then hot-rolled and finally hot-air ‘baked’ to effectively ‘cook’ and dry the paper together, allowing no moisture to be retained. The result is tear resistant and strong paper, staying water-resistant for longer. Paper that won’t go ‘mushy’ (see image above). Paper that will also eventually biodegrade. This means the wire is unlikely to rust while in storage.

Wire
Easy on the hands and fingers! The bright steel holding wire is produced to an exact annealed (softened) specification, which makes it soft, light and easy to twist, making Pillar™ twist-ties less agressive on the fingers. Only requires ONE Wrap and TWO twists for total wind resistance, Faster to secure, lasts longer because the wire instantly ‘work-hardens’ after twisting so as not to unravel under the hostile elements of wind and rain. Eventually the paper and glue will biodegrade and the wire will rust out.
